Durham University

Research Groups

The School of Modern Languages hosts seven interdisciplinary research groups:

If you wish to participate in any of the groups, please contact the named module convenor.

  • These groups are a key element of our shared research environment, and with their particular range of activities and participants, they are best placed to respond to and shape collective, institutional and international research developments.
  • The aim of the groups is to promote and foster intellectual interaction and dialogue, exploring avenues of interest to the members of the group through presentations and discussion. In this way it is hoped that knowledge and ideas can be shared to the benefit of individual and collaborative research projects in Durham and beyond.
  • Postgraduate research students are most welcome to attend any session run by the groups.
