Dr Binghan Zheng to deliver Threlford Lecture at CIOL Annual Conference

(6 March 2020)

6th - 7th March 2020

Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) Conference at BMA House, Central London

Dr Binghan Zheng has been invited to deliver this year’s Threlford Lecture for the CIOL annual conference, with a speech titled: So you’re a translator. What’s going on in your brain?

The Threlford Lecture, named after the founder of the Institute, has been running annually since 1960, and many professors in linguistics and/or translation have spoken over the years. Most recently, academics such as David Crystal, Joanna Drugan (University of East Anglia), and Dorothy Kenny (Dublin City University), and occasionally people in business, have delivered the lecture.

The two-day CIOL Conference will be filled with a wide range of seminars, workshops and keynote speeches, and expected to draw around 200 CIOL members and non-members.
