Professor Terence Cave [Oxford University]: 'The figure of 'Mignon' as a problem in the research methodology of cultural history'

The Literature/History/Theory Research Group based in Modern Languages has invited Professor Terence Cave, Emeritus Research Fellow of St John's College, Oxford to give a seminar on 28 October 2009. All University staff are welcome to attend.

His current project is "Mignon's Afterlives", a study of the various ways in which the character Mignon, from Goethe's novel Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre, is transformed in nineteenth- and twentieth-century European literature, theatre, song and opera.
