The Leverhulme Trust/MLAC Joint Workshop: The Subject of Philosophy / The Subject of Literature

4th June 2009, 11:00, A56, Elvet Riverside I, Durham University

The School of Modern Languages & Cultures, in association with the Leverhulme Trust, is organising a half-day workshop on 4th June 2009 in Room A56, Elvet Riverside I at 11.00am. We would like to invite colleagues from any discipline with interests in the relationship between Philosophy and Literature to participate. The workshop will be based on readings of and responses to Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe's book The Subject of Philosophy, particularly the chapters "The Fable" and "The Detour", photocopies of which are available on request.

Lunch will be provided, so we would ask those who do wish to participate to confirm with Mrs Heather Fenwick [h.a.fenwick@durham.ac.uk] by Friday 22nd May. Queries and suggestions on the format of the workshop should be directed to Dr Alastair Renfrew at alastair.renfrew@durham.ac.uk

Contact alastair.renfrew@durham.ac.uk for more information about this event.
