Pre-show talk on Racine's life and times by Prof. Jan Clarke at Northern Stage to accompany Cheek by Jowl's production of Andromaque

2nd April 2009, 18:00, Northern Stage, Prof. Jan Clarke

Did you know Racine wrote Andromaque for his lover, actress Mlle Du Parc, and was later suspected of having poisoned her?
Why did Racine abandon the stage at the height of his fame?

These are just some of the questions that will be posed in this fascinating pre-show discussion exploring Racine’s life and times, by Prof Jan Clarke, Head of French, in conversation with Erica Whyman. It will take place on Thursday 2 April at 6pm at the Northern Stage, Stage 3 prior to Jowl's production of Andromaque. Entrance is FREE with a ticket to the show.
