School Lecture Series: "Becoming Eco-media: Nuclear Exclusion Zones, Wild Boars and Pocket Geiger Counters"

24th October 2019, 17:00 to 19:00, ER149, Elvet Riverside I, Dan O'Neill (University of California, Berkeley)

The talk will discuss a range of cinematic and media works on rewilding in order to explore how nuclear futurities are reimagined through human and non-human interactions. Moving through a co-constituted ecology that is as thoroughly technologically mediated, as it is increasingly fragile, I will track, through the multiple figurations of the wild, a new line of thought that suggests a fertile ground for conceptual growth at the intersections of the cinematic, the environmental, and the biological.
