Lecture: Challenge-led research in the Arts & Humanities: international opportunities and funding

23rd May 2019, 09:30 to 11:30, IAS Seminar Room, Palace Green, Professor Charles Burdett

Professor Charles Burdett, Modern Languages and Cultures, will be speaking about his experience of holding a Global Challenges Research Fund grant, the journey from the initial award to the expansion into the Global Challenge arena https://www.transnationalmodernlanguages.ac.uk/

Dr Anna Brown, Research Development Manager (International) will then highlight current and upcoming funding opportunities allied with the GCRF and Newton funds and discuss support available to applicants here in Durham. She will endeavour to explain the phrases “ODA compliance”, “DAC list countries” and “SDGs”.
We will then have time for questions and networking with colleagues so please do come along even if you feel that an application to this funding stream is not of immediate concern to you. This is the first in a series of networking GCRF/Strategic Development Goal focussed lunches; subsequent events will be open to staff across the whole university to provide wide networking opportunities.
