Professor Gisèle Sapiro, Directrice de recherche au CNRS et directrice d'études à l'EHESS, will be conducting two events. First, a seminar on 22 February (12-1.00 pm) in ER152 to discuss her essay “Translation and Symbolic Capital in the Era of Globalization: French Literature in the United States.” (Anyone who would like a copy of the essay should feel free to contact Marc Schachter). Her lecture will take place on 22 February (5-6.30 pm) in ER149. She will speak on “The Social Factors Determining the Market for Translations of Literary Works.”
