Structuring Knowledges: Translating Structures/Structuring Translations: Tricky ‘Originals’ and Literary Translation: A Workshop with Karen Emmerich and Others - Dr Karen Emmerich (Princeton University)

19th October 2017, 12:00, ER207, Elvet Riverside II, Durham University

In this second event Dr Emmerich will take part in an open discussion of the challenges tricky ‘originals’ can pose for literary translators--and the ways in which translations sometimes transform the originals from which they are so often said to derive.

Also taking part in this discussion will be the School of Modern Languages and Cultures’ Dr Catherine Dousteyssier-Khoze and Tina O'Donnell discussing the translation of Dr. Dousteyssier-Khoze’s novel La logique de l'amanite along with other local talent. Additional contributors are welcome.

Please let Marc Schachter ( know if you might be interested in joining this workshop.
