French Language 4

The aim of this core-language module is to help you gain an excellent standard in written and spoken French, and in the comprehension of spoken and written French at the level of sophisticated, contemporary discourse. The module is in two parts: written language and spoken language.

  • Written language classes involve: reading, critical analysis and summary of written documents; grammar revision and vocabulary work.
  • Oral language classes are based on class presentations and discussion of topical issues covering French/francophone current affairs, mainly supported by audio-visual material. Teaching includes regular targeted pronunciation exercises and sessions focused on role plays/debates.
