Biography

Parintira Tanawong graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (1st Class Honours) from Naresuan University and a Master's in International Financial Law from the University of Manchester. Afterwards, she became a faculty member at Naresuan University, in the International College.

In 2012, Parintira was awarded a Master's – PhD scholarship in Law from the Thai government to pursue advanced legal study and research in the United Kingdom. She studied an LLM programme in International Trade and Commercial Law at Durham University and graduated with Merit in 2013. She obtained a scholarship to pursue her PhD at Durham University.

Current Research

Under the supervision of Professor Rita de la Feria and Dr Folarin Akinbami, Parintira’s research focuses on corporate income tax policy for promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) in developing countries. This research aims to consider, analyse and evaluate the impact of current corporate income tax policy and its incentives to FDI and economic growth in developing countries. The outcome of this research should benefit developing countries in order to introduce more appropriate tax policy and incentives in order to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) that ensures economic growth while generating consolidated revenue.
