Durham Law School ranked 5th best in Complete University Guide 2020

(2 May 2019)

Durham University’s Law School has reached 5th best in the UK in the new edition of the Complete University Guide 2020. This is a rise of two places since last year. The Law School’s research rating is unchanged, its high average entry tariff remains stable but the main difference is the continuing improvement in employability results.

Durham Law School Dean, Professor Thom Brooks, says: “This is an outstanding achievement showing the high regard other academic law schools and practitioners in law firms, chambers and the judiciary have of what we do at Durham. It’s a collective effort and I’m enormously grateful to the hard work my colleagues are putting in to make us the law school to watch.”

Durham University is already #1 for employability among all universities. Professor Brooks says: “We have some of the most inspiring alumni to be found and work with the best of the best. Over the last three years, we have committed ourselves to engaging more than ever before with legal practitioners and this work is paying off like never before – a sure sign our strategy is working and a motivation to continue to increase our efforts in this highly competitive area.”
