Durham law alumnus and law school professor to co-edit book

Former Durham law student Daley Birkett, who is currently pursuing a LLM at Leiden in the Netherlands, and Professor Michael Bohlander have just signed a contract with Ashgate Publishing to co-edit a 500-page book entitled "The Codification of Criminal Law". The work, due to be published in 2013/14, will be the first volume in a new series with Ashgate, called The International Library of Essays on Criminal Law; the General Series Editor is Professor Stephen Shute of Sussex University. The series will carry collections of seminal articles on several topics in criminal law with an introduction by the editors of each volume.  Further planned volumes to be edited by renowned academics will look at topics such as Criminal Law and Human Rights,  The Limits of Criminal Law,  Technology and Criminal Law, The Theory and Development of Criminal Procedure and The Theoretical and Philosophical Foundations of Criminal Law.
