Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP)

 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Welcome to Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership brings together a company partner, an academic team and a high calibre graduate to fulfil a challenging and exciting project.   Even better, a government grant will support the project and provide a structure for it.

Company partners can include businesses in most sectors and of most sizes,  some public sector organisations, charities, social enterprises and other third sector bodies.

Why have a KTP with Durham?

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and their predecessor, Teaching Company Scheme, have now been offered for over 35 years and nearly 9000 companies nationally have benefited from partnerships with academia in that time.   Durham  University has been involved since 1980. With our long track record of over 100 partnerships and wealth of expertise we can help your business develop new ways of working that will underpin your future competitiveness.

Here in Durham we think outside the box on KTPs, involving as many academic departments as possible thereby widening the variety of organisations who can access our knowledge and technology.   We have a track record of KTPs in the Social Sciences with Durham Business School, Anthropology, Health, Law, Geography, Applied Social Science and Education as well as in  science departments including Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences, Engineering and Computing Sciences.

We also thrive on KTPs that are full of impact, innovation and challenge.

Widening access to academic expertise in Durham is our aim so why not give us a call and we will be pleased to explore opportunities with you.
