The Centre for Medical Humanities and the Durham Light Infantry Museum Art Gallery are jointly organising an exhibition which will feature a number of pastels by the artist surgeon, Henry Tonks, depicting soldiers from the First World War who sustained facial injuries. The works are held by the Royal College of Surgeons of London and we have arranged a loan of these works as the centrepiece of the exhibition from 6 May-24 June 2012.
