5 March 2009
The Lindisfarne Centre, St Aidan's College
Thinking About Almost Everything was launched at an intimate evening reception, which included a lively and thought provoking discussion chaired by the Chancellor, Dr Bill Bryson. The discussion traced the genesis, aims and value of the book, and gave a flavour of its contents by focussing on some fundamental questions relating to our futures, making for a most stimulating and enjoyable event. This was followed by a post-launch reception which gave the audience the opportunity to purchase advance copies of the book, and speak to the book's editors, contributors, and members of the discussion panel.
The launch of this book was a celebration of the research ideas generated at Durham; a hugely significant event for the University and the IAS in particular.
