An Evening with Sir Andrew Motion

15th June 2011, 19:00 to 22:00, The Royal Society, London

This evening event at the Royal Society in London will be a wonderful opportunity to hear Sir Andrew read from his latest collection of poems and answer questions about his writing and the role of Poet Laureate, a position he held from 1999 until 2009.    The evening will build on the success of previous London-based events organised by the Institute of Advanced Study; offering friends of the University and the wider Durham alumni network the opportunity to come together for what should prove to be a most stimulating and engaging social occasion.

Date:                Wednesday, 15 June 2011

Time:               19.00 - 22.00

Venue:            The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton Terrace, SW1Y 5AG

Drinks and nibbles will be available from 7.00pm before the event starts at 7.30pm. This event will see Sir Andrew Motion in conversation with Professor Michael O'Neill (Poet and Director of the IAS) and will be followed by a drinks reception in the Marble Hall for guests to mingle and chat with Sir Andrew.

Tickets:            £20 per person
