CANCELLED Science, society and environmental change in the first millennium CE - Health and environment in the Eastern Roman Empire: Sources and Approaches
Sadly, due to the covid-19 outbreak this seminar has been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.
This workshop will follow up from the paper by Dr Caroline Petit on Galen, examining a broader range of sources helping to reconstruct the health and illness patterns of the Eastern part of the Roman Empire (Asia Minor, Middle East). Dr Petit will propose a new translation of Galen’s De bonis malisque succis 1 (a chapter describing famine in Asia Minor), currently not available in English.
