17th March 2020, 09:00 to 12:00, Seminar Room, Institute of Advanced Study, Dr Caroline Petit (University of Warwick)

Abstract

Sadly, due to the covid-19 outbreak this seminar has been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.

This workshop will follow up from the paper by Dr Caroline Petit on Galen, examining a broader range of sources helping to reconstruct the health and illness patterns of the Eastern part of the Roman Empire (Asia Minor, Middle East). Dr Petit will propose a new translation of Galen’s De bonis malisque succis 1 (a chapter describing famine in Asia Minor), currently not available in English.
