Dr Magdalena Rembowska-Płuciennik: Research Seminar on Polish Modernism

Magda's research is on Polish modernism and its relations with modern philosophy, psychology and science. She is especially interested in the nature of consciousness and its role in the development of modernist aesthetics in Polish twentieth-century literature. She will be giving a brief presentation of her work, followed by discussion.

The Department of English Studies, in association with the Institute of Advanced Study, is currently hosting a short visit by Dr Magdalena Rembowska-Płuciennik, a lecturer in the Institute of Literary Research in the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Magda's research is on Polish modernism and its relations with modern philosophy, psychology and science. She is especially interested in the nature of consciousness and its role in the development of modernist aesthetics in Polish twentieth-century literature. She will be giving a brief presentation of her work, followed by discussion, on Monday, 12 November, at 4.30 p.m. Her talk will take place in Room E102 in the Engineering Building on the Science Site.
