The Workforce Planning Team produce comprehensive, accurate and timely HR data, analyses and reports for University Council and Executive, Faculties, Departments and Teams. All the data we provide is done so within the bounds of the Data Protection Act 1998 and in line with the University's information security policy.

The team are also responsible for the provision of external data e.g. benchmarking, statutory returns such as the HESA staff return, Athena Swan and provides higher education institutions with HESA staff identifier numbers.

The work that we do is dependent upon accurate data being supplied in the HR system by Departments, Colleges we therefore work closely with Departments, Payroll, Pensions and CIS to ensure the data we hold is correct.

The team also supports departments in the use of People+.

Please note that if you are outside the University and making a Freedom of Information request, you must make this request via our FOI request page, not via the Workforce Planning report request.

The accuracy and reliability of all reports is dependent on good quality data being input to the database.

The HR Business Support Services Team run daily data validation exercises with weekly audits being carried out by the HR Workforce Planning Team.
