Trade Unions

It is not a condition of employment in the University that any member of staff should join any Trade Union.

The University recognises the following trade unions:

Trade Union Meetings are normally held outside of working hours.

Permission to hold meetings within working hours or on University or College premises has to be sought in advance from the HR Director.

Full-time trade union officers are not permitted onto University or College premises without the prior consent of the HR Director.

The University operates a "check off" arrangement for all recognised Unions, whereby subscriptions are deducted directly from salary. Forms are available from the relevant union representative.
