Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a simple, tax-efficient way for employees to make regular monthly donations to a charity of their choice through CAF Give As You Earn.

Donations are taken straight from your salary before income tax is deducted; this means that you receive tax relief on your donation immediately. Therefore, a donation of £1 only costs you 80p, or 60p if you are a higher rate tax payer.

Examples are provided here:

Which Charity Can I Give To?

Deciding to give to charity is the easy part. With over 200,000 registered charitable organisations in the UK, deciding where your donations go can be quite difficult! You can donate to any UK-based charity, and you can support as many charities as you wish.

How Do I Set Up Payroll Giving?

Set up is quick and simple, please follow the link here to CAF Give As You Earn webpage where you can select your chosen charity and donation amount.

CAF take a small admin fee of 4% (capped at a maximum of £10 per pay period) for direct donations to charity which is paid by staff. For donations into a CAF Charity Account, a small contribution is deducted each time an account is topped-up. More information on payroll giving through CAF can be found here.
