Mentoring Impact Scheme

As part of its Capacity Building Programme, the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) is launching its MENTORING IMPACT 2018-19 SCHEME.

This scheme is designed to support Durham Social Science researchers to maximise the impact and influence of their research on non-academic beneficiaries, and is open to researchers within the Social Sciences Faculty, at all career stages, who wish to develop their impact and engagement work.

EACH MENTEE WILL BE ALLOCATED UP TO £1,000 TO SUPPORT AN IMPACT AND ENGAGEMENT PROJECT to run between April 2018 and January 2019, guided by their mentor, and each mentor will be paid an honorarium of £500 (into a research account or similar) in recognition of the time commitment and in order to assist with their own impact activities.

To Enter:

- There is no application form. Applicants just need to submit a CV (max. 2 pages), together with a covering letter (max. 2 pages) providing details of their planned engagement project and highlighting why they would like to participate in the Scheme to the IAA Manager ( - for further information, please refer to the scheme guidelines below.

- The deadline for applications is no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 29th March 2018. Applications will be considered by the ESRC IAA Management Team and the Deputy Head of Faculty (Research) in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health, with ten researchers being selected to participate and work with an academic mentor.
