The Rainbow Alliance
"The alliance brings together services, charities and businesses who support our values of inclusion and diversity. Together we will be able to work together to further promote the rights of LGBTQ+ people from across County Durham!" Durham Pride UK
This is an exciting initative for the University to be part of as we continue to support the annual Pride event in May as well as the ongoing work with our staff, students and wider community to promote LGBT rights.
The alliance launched on 9 February 2018 at Durham Town Hall, it was an open drop in event for all to find out about what local services are doing for the LGBT community. The event was opened by Laura Pidcock MP, with senior representatives from the current member organisations there to show their support.
Have you seen a Rainbow?
As part of our LGBT celebrations you'll notice that we're flying the Rainbow Flag outside the Chemistry building on the Science Site, don't forget to look up and see it! See how many rainbows you can see during February including tie pins, flags and lanyards.
If you'd like order Rainbow Lanyards please contact Louise Herron with your departmental cost centre.
