Visit Liberate My Library to request a book to be included! You can also complete a postcard found across library sites, museum, and other university buildings.

The Rainbow Alliance

"The alliance brings together services, charities and businesses who support our values of inclusion and diversity. Together we will be able to work together to further promote the rights of LGBTQ+ people from across County Durham!" Durham Pride UK

The Rainbow Alliance is a group of representatives from different agencies across the north east who want to raise awareness and improve responses for LGBT+ staff and/or clients in their agencies or organisations. This is an exciting initiative for the University to be part of as we continue to support the annual Pride event in May as well as the ongoing work with our staff, students and wider community to promote LGBT rights.

Have you seen a Rainbow?

As part of our LGBT celebrations you'll notice that we're flying the Rainbow Flag in the Palatine on the Science Site and at Castle, don't forget to look up and see it! See how many rainbows you can see during February including tie pins, flags and lanyards.

If you'd like order Rainbow Lanyards please contact edi.team@durham.ac.uk with your departmental cost centre.
