Funding and Fellowship Opportunities
Applications for Leverhulme Trust Fellowships to commence from September 2020 will open in January 2020. As only a limited number of applications can be supported each year, potential applicants should make early contact with relevant academic staff to refine their application. Draft applications will need to be received by the Department by Friday 10th January; feedback will be given to you by 20th January.
You will need to have an excellent track record and a new, exciting, clearly-defined research proposal that appeals beyond your specialism. Further details are available via Leverhulme.
Our Department has a successful record of sponsoring and hosting outstanding candidates for prestigious post-doctoral fellowship competitions. These Fellowships provide opportunities for those who are at a relatively early stage of their academic careers, but with a proven record of excellent research, to join our departmental research community for a fixed period of time.
Some post-doctoral fellowship schemes are funded or operated by Durham University; others are supported by external funding bodies and require us to provide a strong research community for tenure of the fellowship. We welcome eligible applicants of the highest calibre from all backgrounds, genders, or ethnicities. The Department is sometimes restricted in the number of candidates it may submit to a particular scheme, and in all cases we must assess whether we can offer candidates an appropriate fit for their research interests and career needs.
