The energy research strengths of Durham have been recognised by its participation in two prestigious EPSRC funded Centres for Doctoral Training: Renewable Energy Northeast Universities, which is principally in the area of Solar PV, Energy Storage, Energy Materials and Electrical Energy Engineering; and Aura CDT, in the area of Wind Energy Technology.
