Decarbonising Non-residential heat workshop

(26 June 2020)

The Durham Heat Hub Workshop on Decarbonising Non-residential heat took place on 24th June via Zoom. Presenters from Durham County Council, Durham University, Tees Valley Combined Authority, Energy Uk, North East Lep and Northern Gas Networks presented their views on the current situation and the opportunities for new technologies and new investment.

The discussion ranged from the need to assure energy efficiency first to how we can store heat and bring down the cost of hydrogen and was attended by 83 delegates from across the UK and Abroad.

The Heat Hub is a joint project between Durham Energy Institute and Durham County Council and aims to share knowledge, information and events to accelerate the decarbonisation of heat in the region. Please follow our news and events through Durham Energy Institute and on our new website

Any suggestions for future events or activities that the Hub can support are very gratefully received.
