DEI Commentary on National Grid's Interim Blackout report

Dr Chris Dent, who is a Reader in Industrial Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh as well as a DEI  Associate Fellow, has provided commentary on National Grid's Interim Report, which covers the 9th August Blackout events and was published on the 16th August. The Interim report can be read in full here: National Grid Interim Report.

Dr Dent raises questions for the investigators and provides some answers to the questions of:

Did the system respond as it should to the lightning strike?, How do we stop this happening again?, Are risks increasing?, Should we blame the wind? and What about the hospital? And the railways?.
