  • Solar Car Challenge
  • Customer Led Network Revolution: research findings
  • Off-Grid and Renewable Transitions in Energy Livelihoods

The DEI supports and produces cutting-edge research at Durham University on the technological, social, policy or industrial aspects of energy. We nurture research on a wide-range of energy technologies including geo-energy, renewables generation (wind, solar, hydro, bio) and integration, bio-fuels, smart grids, energy systems and nuclear. Building on this expertise we emphasise a ‘Science and Society’ approach to energy which tackles the societal aspects of energy technology and explores the social, political and economic implications of technological developments.

If you would like to find out more about our research and opportunities for collaboration please visit our website at or contact us here.

We hope you enjoy this issue and would be delighted to receive any feedback that you have.
