DEI Awarded EPSRC Energy Storage Grand Challenge Project

DEI have been awarded EPSRC Energy Storage Grand Challenge project "Energy Storage for Low Carbon Grids".

This a £5.5M consortium project over 5 years; Durham share is approx. £ 600k. Durham investigators include Taylor, Bialek, Wade, Dent (Eng & Comp Sci) and TroffaesJensen (Maths).

 Other consortium partners are Imperial College, Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, Leeds, UCL and Cardiff. The disciplines involved include economists, engineers, electrochemists. The research involves linking material science with grid systems control and planning.
