Ørsted Energy Masters scholarships now available for October 2020!
Ørsted are offering a number of scholarships for outstanding UK and EU students who will be starting an Energy Masters at Durham University in October 2020.
Ørsted is a global leader. Since pioneering the world’s first offshore wind farm in 1991, they have established themselves as the unrivalled leader within global offshore wind power production. They develop, construct and operate multiple offshore wind farms across Europe. They have built more offshore wind capacity than any other company worldwide, and have installed over a quarter of the market’s current capacity. In 2017, they installed the world's largest offshore wind turbines at Burbo Bank Extension and finished building a world first bio plant called Renescience, a waste-to-energy solution to increase recycling rates and provide energy for up to 110,000 UK homes.
Ørsted is a key strategic partner for Durham University and collaborates with Durham Energy Institute Researchers on a number of research projects and activities.
This is a unique opportunity as these scholarships are only available to UK and EU students who wish to study on the MSc Energy and Society or the MSc New and Renewable Energy at Durham University.
The deadline for Ørsted scholarship applications is 31st August 2020.
By the deadline, you must have completed your Durham University MSc application and have sent a 400-500 word supporting statement of why you should be considered for a scholarship to firstname.lastname@example.org
The MSc Sustainability, Energy and Development course, in association with the Durham Energy Institute, is an innovative postgraduate programme designed to appeal across the disciplines. The programme is a merger of the Masters in Sustainability, Culture and Development with the Masters in Energy and Society. It offers an integrated, inter-disciplinary education in emerging topical issues in sustainability, energy and development. It operates in the cross-over spaces of sustainability thinking between social and natural sciences and provides opportunities for students to work across multiple disciplines or to specialise.

The MSc New and Renewable Energy course is designed to equip our graduates with the skills required to meet the growing challenge to achieve energy and environmental sustainability through the application of new and renewable energy technologies. The programme aims to enable students to develop the capacity to solve problems across the traditional Engineering boundaries and to have an appreciation of complete energy systems from source to end user, to have knowledge of the relevant technologies and to understand the interactions between them. The programme also provides students with the opportunity to develop skills in research, development, design and project management through individual and team-based project work.
