Durham Energy Institute-Centre for Life Public Debate: Carbon Capture - Do we need it?

The Government has committed to Carbon Capture & Storage where large volumes of CO2 are stored deep under the North Sea. But how much do we know about the process, is it safe & suitable for the North-East?

The debate takes the BBC Question Time format and is intended as a platform for attendees to ask questions that further their knowledge on carbon capture; and gives the wider public the opportunity to raise any fears and concerns about the implementation of the technology in North East England with a panel of experts.

The debate is chaired by Professor Paul Younger of Newcastle University.
