The Impact of Brexit on the energy landscape of the North: roundtable discussion

30th March 2017, 09:00 to 13:00, The Core, Science Central, Bath Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 5TF

With the support of funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), DEI have commissioned IPPR North to undertake a survey and facilitate a half day workshop to consider the challenges Brexit presents to energy stakeholders within our region. The workshop to discuss the survey, together with the recently published DEI Policy Paper “The Impact of Brexit on the UK energy system”.

This event is by invitation only. We have invited key people from local authorities, businesses, the charitable and social enterprise sectors and universities from across our region to pool their knowledge, experience and expertise to consider the implications of Brexit, particularly in relation to research and innovation, energy efficiency and demand reduction, energy regulation, energy policy, fuel poverty and new and renewable energy technologies.

The purpose of the event is to identify ideas that could inform the current Government Green Paper on UK Industrial Strategy. We aim to consider any links with the emerging Strategy and to pool ideas for innovation, economic development and sustainability within the region.
