Energy Systems: In with the new and out with the old
The energy industry is facing countless new challenges as current resources run out and new sources are developed. Tackling these global challenges requires collaboration and innovation in both behaviour and technology. This Symposium aims to provide an insight in to 4 of these major challenges of energy security, decommissioning, regulation and integration using invited guests and researchers to provide their view of old and new energy systems.
What are the challenges that the energy industry faces over the next twenty years and what do we need to do to meet them? Can we continue to maintain energy security and resilience post-Brexit and just how much is decommissioning both on and off shore going to cost? These are just some of the questions that our panel of experts will be discussing over the course of the day.
We would like to encourage anyone with an interest in energy from outside Durham University to attend the event to contribute to our discussions and debates on the research and expertise that is, could and should be supported within Durham. To encourage external participation, we are continuing to offer FREE attendance and you are welcome to attend for all or part of the day, but registration is essential for catering purposes.
You can view the full programme here.
If you are unable to attend on the day, you can watch the event via live-streaming here. Please note, the sound will be muted in-between sessions.
The day will also feature a photography competition (open to all) and a student poster competition sponsored by DONG Energy UK as well as a networking lunch and drinks reception.
Please register at Eventbrite.
