Electricity: are we at the tipping point?

Co-hosted by Durham Energy Institute and the Energy Institute, this is a unique opportunity to hear from one of the UK energy leaders, Durham Alumnus Ian Marchant, who will review and highlight the big themes that are playing out in the Electricity Industry this decade. This event will be live-streamed for people who cannot get to Durham for the event.

Ian Marchant was Chief Executive of SSE plc, a leading UK energy utility company, for over 10 years until stepping down in the summer of 2013.

Summer 2015 saw Ian become the former Chairman of Scotland's 2020 Climate Delivery Group, President of Energy Institute and former Chairman of Infinis Energy plc in December 2015.

Ian continues as Chairman of Wood Group, non-executive Chairman Nova Innovation and non-executive director of Aggreko plc and Linknode as well as Chairman of Maggie's Cancer Charity, Chairman to the Advisory board of Centre for Energy Policy at Strathclyde University and is a Member of the Prince’s Council of the Duchy of Cornwall.
