Energy & Global Policy Lunchtime Research Conversation

27th November 2014, 12:00 to 14:00, PCL053 (Palatine Law Centre), Carter Page

The lunchtime research conversation will be an opportunity to explore
links between DEI and GPI and identify opportunities for future

Carter will
begin the session with an introductory talk on ‘An Alternative Global Policy Framework for the Political Economy of Iraq’ based on a draft working paper he is currently producing, which will be circulated to participants before the event. This will investigate hypotheses surrounding alternative global policy
frameworks that marry the possible mitigation of long-standing internal disagreements within Iraq alongside associated sources of controversy in the international community. The analysis will pay particular attention to existing policy obstacles that have hindered both the energy and financial industries in Iraq, two foundations of the still nascent national economy. This will be followed by a themed discussion.

Lunch will be provided but registration prior to the event is
essential. Please inform Lynn Gibson if you are able to attend the event by 25 November 2014 on
