DEI Society & Energy Networking Event
Presentations from Prof david Nye, Prof Domin Boyer and Associate Prof Cymene Howe followed by a discussion on potential new social science and interdisciplinary research collaborations through DEI, IAS and Durham’s other research institutes.
- Professor David Nye, University of Southern Denmark, Danish Institute for Advanced Study who will speak on his work as a historian of technology & electricity
- Professor Dominic Boyer, Director, Center for Energy & Environmental Research in the Human Sciences, Rice University, speaking on the work of CEERHS
- Associate Professor Cymene Howe, Anthropology, Rice University, speaking on “The Political Culture of Wind Power Development in Southern Mexico”
It is hoped that these topics will stimulate a wider discussion on potential new engagements in social science and interdisciplinary research collaborations through DEI, IAS and Durham’s other research institutes.
The event will be chaired by Dr Sandra Bell, Senior Lecturer in Anthropology.
