Durham Risk Day

27th November 2012, 09:30 to 17:00, Joachim Room, College of St. Hild and St. Bede.

Risk and Reliability Modelling of Energy Systems day. An annual event co-sponsored by the DEI. 

Registration is now open for Durham Risk Day. To register and for further information visit the Durham Risk Day website. Durham staff and students should fill in the online registration form, and have an option to pay by internal trading form (see Durham Risk Day website for details).The registration deadline for this event is Friday 9 November.

There will be an informal dinner on Monday 26 November (1930 for 2000), also at Hild-Bede College. The registration fee is £30 for non-Durham delegates (to include refreshments throughout the day and lunch).  When registering, please indicate whether you would like to attend the dinner (cost £15).

The two invited speakers for 2012 are:
- Dave Miller, Northern Powergrid: "Risk-based planning of electricity distribution systems".
- Tim Bedford, Strathclyde University: "Bayesian uncertainty analysis with application to offshore wind farms" (provisional title).

For the first time at this event there will be a student presentation prize (first prize £150, second prize £75), generously sponsored by the IEEE Power and Energy Society UK and Republic of Ireland Chapter. While the oral programme is now full, we are still able to accept further posters - please contact me or Sean Norris if you wish to do this.
