Free Public Lecture: Bringing it all together - A sustainable energy future

1st July 2011, 20:00 to 21:30, Ken Wade Lecture Theatre, Calman Learning Centre, Durham University DH1 3LE, Rob Williams, Head of Renewables, BT plc

Part of the Earth Science Teachers' Association Annual Course and Conference. Everyone is welcome to attend the FREE PUBLIC LECTURE, and there is no need to book.

BT is recognised as a world leader in carbon reduction and sustainability. The company is one of the largest consumers of electricity in the UK and over the last 10 years we have taken positive action to reduce our impact on the environment, by reducing energy consumption and then sourcing the electricity we need from low carbon and renewable sources.

One of the greatest challenges for the future is to ensure that the next generation grow up with respect for energy, which is becoming more costly, both environmentally and financially. Inspiring leadership and positive action is required to deliver this change and to allow BT to engage with 130,000 employees worldwide to take this journey to a more sustainable future. The lessons learnt by BT illustrate how sustainability can be embedded into the everyday actions and thoughts of the people you teach and lead.

This FREE PUBLIC LECTURE is part of the Earth Science Teachers' Association Annual Course and Conference. Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no need to book.
