Jenny Cooper

Dr Jenny Cooper specialises in research and development management and has been an Independent Energy Innovation Specialist since September 2014. She was responsible for Transmission research and development within National Grid for over 10 years and has twenty eight years’ experience in innovation within the energy industry. Her focus has been on the electricity industry, short and long term strategic planning, environmental issues, new technology and increasingly all aspects of energy technology and innovation.

She has been a regular speaker at international seminars and conferences and is a member of a number of national and international committees. She was a member of EPSRC’s User Panel, chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee for RCUK’s Energy Programme, is a member of EPSRC’s Strategic Advisory Network, the IET’s Energy Sector Executive Committee and has been a visiting Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. She is SET Ambassador in Warwickshire and a Governor at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College supporting engineering in Further Education as well as general governance.
