Northern Poetry Library

The Northern Poetry Library, located at Morpeth Library, is the largest collection of post-World War II poetry in England outside London. There are over 15,000 volumes, including first editions, signed copies and runs of poetry periodicals.

In 2015 the Centre was awarded £67 000 to develop awareness of the Northern Poetry Library. We collaborated in bringing the NPL exhibition A Storehouse of Words to Durham's Palace Green Library in 2016.
