Daily Life in Ancient Lebanon – An Exhibition
The inhabitants of ancient Lebanon played a fundamental role in shaping the history of the Mediterranean and yet, despite their importance in antiquity, they have largely remained an enigma outside of academic circles. Preliminary research for this exhibition identified that ancient Lebanon is vastly under-represented in museum collections throughout the UK when compared with contemporary societies in Greece, Egypt, Assyria, and Persia. The proposed exhibition therefore seeks to address this imbalance so as to make the history and peoples of ancient Lebanon more accessible to the general public.
This exhibition will be held in conjunction with Durham University's Oriental Museum in June-October 2016. For more information, please follow the below links.
