College dining hall.

Trevelyan is a fully catered College. This means that you are provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner during term time. Meals are served in the Dining Hall and usually last between 90 minutes and two hours to provide flexibility.

We have small shared kitchens on our landings so you can prepare food for yourself if you wish. These kitchens are equipped with all the essentials, including kettles, fridges, freezers, and microwaves.

Trevelyan hosts regular formal dinners, or 'formals', three-course dinners held in our Dining Hall. Formals are held regularly during term time, with special formals in celebration of events such as Christmas, Diwali, and Burns Night. Each of the Durham Colleges has its own formal traditions of which they are proud. Trevelyan is a gowned College that, among its many traditions, starts formal dinners with a toast to the College and a silent grace.

Our catering options are flexible, and we can accommodate most dietary restrictions, allergies, and intolerances. Whether you are a resident on a catering package or a liver out attending a formal dinner please just let us know and we will be happy to discuss your dietary requirements with you.
