The best way to find out more about living and studying at Durham University is to come on one of our pre-application open days.
Pre-application open days
The university ran campus-wide pre-application open days at its Durham-City campus on Monday 26th June, Saturday 1st July, and Saturday 23rd September 2017. The events provided an opportunity for those interested in applying to Durham to visit and see academic departments, colleges and central facilities, including sports facilities. There was a limited amount of university run accommodation available. The event required pre-booking, and was managed by the university's event organisation, Event Durham. Details of the date in summer 2018 for 2019 will appear in due course at https://www.dur.ac.uk/undergraduate/visit/
There will be an opportunity to meet chemistry academic staff, including the admissions team, and to view some of our teaching and research facilities.
In addition, the university frequently runs campus tours.
Visiting the department at other times
Potential applicants may visit the department between June and September, usually a Wednesday morning at 11:30, but please contact us in advance by sending an e-mail giving your name and the school you attend to email@example.com.
The chemistry admissions team are unable to receive visits from potential applicants between October and February each year. We strongly encourage interested candidates to make an application, and if you receive an offer then you will be invited to a post-offer vist day in February or March.
