University Exchanges

Durham University has a number of bilateral agreements for undergraduate student exchanges with institutions outside Europe. More information about current partners can be found on the International Office Overseas Exchange pages .

Let us introduce some of our recent incoming exchange students.

Hoi Yee Chow (Incoming exchange student from the University of Hong Kong)

Hoi Yee Chow is an undergraduate Chemistry student at the University of Hong Kong, who came to do her second year at Durham Chemistry. A talented and versatile student, Hoi Yee is passionate about Chemistry, but also about music, and more recently - cooking.

Hoi Yee enjoyed many aspects of student life at Durham, but particularly her practical laboratory sessions. She says "I enjoyed the laboratory sessions the most. I got a chance to do the whole experiments on my own and only seek help from demonstrator when needed. You not only need to prepare well beforehand, but also know what’s going on when experiment is not going as expected and fix it. The satisfaction after finishing the experiments makes me feel I am a bit closer to become a chemist. "

Jing Ying Beh (Incoming exchange student from the National University of Singapore)
