Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group Meeting 2013

Collingwood College, Durham University

7 - 9 January 2013

The conference will begin on the evening of Monday 7th January with two tutorial lectures aimed particularly, but by no means exclusively, at graduate students. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the meeting will involve the traditional mix of invited lectures together with both oral and poster contributions. We would like to encourage all participants, and especially graduate students and postdocs, to submit titles for presentations (particularly the 20 minute oral contributions). We will do our best to accommodate as many oral contributions into the conference programme as possible.  A more detailed timetable of the SDG conference will be available in due course.

The venue of the Meeting will be Collingwood College which is one of the colleges of Durham University.

Our invited speakers for the meeting are:

Jon Marangos (Imperial College)  (tutorial lecture)

          “Attosecond measurement”

Massimo Mella (University of Insubria, Italy)  (tutorial lecture)

“Simulating molecular clusters with random chance approaches: a guide for quantum Monte Carlo for energetics and structure”

Marcel Drabbels (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne)

“Spectra of cold molecular ions from hot helium nanodroplets”

Rebecca Jockusch (University of Toronto)

“Fluorescence and FRET of trapped, mass-selected ions”

Mike Nix (University of Leeds)

“Ultrafast transient spectroscopy of pyrrole-based chromophores in solution”
