Department of Chemistry

Durham University Chemical Society

Durham University Chemical Society(DUCS) is for everyone to share their interest in chemistry, not only chemists and natural scientists. We offer a range of both academically related and social events, from talks by guest speakers to demonstration lectures. The highlight of our social calendar is our annual chemistry ball and the summer cricket and barbecue. The society also has regular visits from connected companies advertising the vast number of jobs available in the sector.

Membership costs £7 for a year or £10 for life!

Sign up on the DSU website ( or bring along money to the Freshers Fair or membership event.
