Additional language learning opportunities
Are you an English speaker learning a foreign language at Durham University wanting to meet native speakers?
Are you a foreign language speaker learning English or simply wanting to share your language and culture?
We maintain a database of native speakers wishing to ‘exchange’ language skills (the Tandem scheme). You can benefit whatever your level. If you would like to join the scheme, please complete the form below.
We also organise and promote language events around the University so email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are organising a language event and/or join our mailing list if you want to hear of any event.
We are keen on expanding the range of language opportunities and are interested in hearing from anyone who may be interested in volunteering their services. Please scroll to the bottom of this page for further details.

Are you a native speaker of a language other than English and/or have first hand experience of the culture of the country where it is spoken? Would you like to contribute your skills and ideas to language events and activities (examples could include participating or helping to arrange language events, or perhaps talking about your experiences of living or working in another country, or sharing your own country’s culture)?
The project is in its early days and we are keen to hear from enthusiastic individuals who can help bring language learning to life across Durham! If you are a member of the university (staff or student) and would like to contribute, please email email@example.com. Please note that this is for expressions of interest only, and there is no commitment at this stage. You may volunteer as little or as much as you wish as and when needs or ideas arise.
