Online courses for summer 2020
CFLS delivers the majority of our courses face-to-face in a classroom setting. Due to the current social distancing measures in response to the COVID-19 situation we have worked to maintain provision of language courses to those who want to access them using online delivery for June 2020. Courses will be delivered on an online teaching platform (most likely Blackboard Collaborate via the University’s virtual learning environment), providing a virtual classroom in which learners can interact via video with their teacher and fellow students. Classes will take place at a set time each week, as per the schedule below, replicating as far as possible the original planned schedule and curriculum.
To take full benefit of the classes you will need a reliable internet connection, webcam and microphone and a modern browser. You will appreciate that this mode of delivery for our Languages for All evening courses is not standard, and we are having to adapt to circumstances. Both teachers and learners will need to adjust to new ways of working and learning, and we will support one another through any challenges we may face. We hope however that learners will welcome the opportunity to either begin or continue their studies with us at distance.
Our Japanese programme for summer 2020 comprises of Language Development courses.
