Geopower and Bio/Energy: thinking across ‘geos’ and ‘bios’ in times of crisis

This discussion will bring together colleagues from across the Centre for Cultural Ecologies to discuss new and emerging ideas in relation to the geos and bios in the moment of the Anthropocene. The aim is to experiment with forms of environmental thought that connect up the minute encounters of everyday biophilia with the transversality of the geos. This is an informal research conversation co-hosted by the Centre for Cultural Ecologies and the Durham Energy Institute, and will include contributions from Andrew Baldwin and Elizabeth Johnson (Geography), and Caitríona Ní Dhúill (MLaC, CCE director).
